5/19-20 Artsplosure Raleigh. Free annual event in Moore's Square, downtown Raleigh.. Saturday 1-10 PM with 8 bands and Sunday 11A to 6:30 PM with six bands. I reccomend Grupo Fantasma on Saturday at 8 PM. They are a fun, exciting band of Tejanos from Austin who do very dancable Cumbia with some salsa and cha cha. Check out this crazy video  Also Justin Robinson and the Mary Annettes are playing 7-8. Justin is from the Carolina Chocolate Drops. On Sunday Big Sam's Funky Nation at 6:30 is a funky, rolicking Nawlins' marching band that I have seen at festivals.Here is a Video The other 15 or so bands I am not familiar with but you can check them out on the web www.artsplosure.org

Eighth annual festival sponsored by Diamente Inc., a Latino Arts and Culture org. I don't recognize any salsa band, looks like mostly folkloric and norteno tho I believe Truco does Bachata, with Truco Band, Mariachi 2000, Sin Reservas, Jesus Sanchez, Grupo Sarengue, Grupo Revelacion, Calentanos. Also folkloric dance companies, childrens activities, craft vendors and Zumba and salsa lessons. Note NEW Venue. Moved to Downtown Cary park. 12 P- 7 PM. Free. www.diamenteinc.org
