Gumbo is a tasty soup that our Louisiana Friends enjoy, that can be made with a little bit of everything.

To make a good Dance Gumbo we make a roux of Swing and Salsa, throw in some Ballroom and Zydeco, sprinkle with some Waltz and Country Western Two Step, and blend in some Cha Cha Cha and improv and you have a tasty treat for the feet.

Every fourth Saturday of the Month. Triangle Dance Studio 2603 S. Miami Blvd, Durham 27703.

Next Dance Gumbo April 28  Lesson 8 PM- Country Western Two Step. Dance 8:45 ish.

Recipe for Classic Gumbo: The Minnestrone is about 35% Swing (mix of East Coast, West Coast, Lindy), about 20% Latin (Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata) and the rest Ballroom, Tango, Zydeco, Hustle, Waltz, Country Western Two Step, and Improv.

If we do a Themed Dance half of the dance will be the theme of that month. If we do a Classic Gumbo, then it is just the Classic mix. Kapish .

Next Dance Gumbo Theme or Classic- Country Western- Though we will have ample two stepping (maybe 25% of mix) we plan to incorporate lots of country western music for East and West Coast swing, waltz and cha cha along with healthy portions of the usual Latin, Ballroomn, Cajun/Zydeco

Studio is hard to find so just don't google but see landmarks below !!

From I-40: Take Exit 281/Miami Blvd. north (rt off exit). Go 3 miles. You will pass a Shell station and traffic light at Lumley Road. 2603 is the second driveway on the right after Lumley Rd. next to Research Triangle Dentist -a two story non descript building with no sign and the parking lot is in the back. It is just across from America's Best Realty.

From Durham Freeway Hway 147: Take Durham Freeway South and East past downtown Durham. Exit Ellis Rd. Exit 8 and make a left off the exit ramp. Go under the highway and continue on Ellis for a mile or two until it ends on Miami Blvd. Right on Miami and go 0.8 miles. 2603 is right across the street from America's Best Realty and the pet resort and nesxt to Research Triangle dentist. It is a white two story non-descript building with no sign and the parking lot is in the back.
