Friday Oct 15 9:30 - Pre Party with DJ Salsa Mike & Dance Performances at Marvell Entertainment Center, 119 W. Main St. Durham, In conjunction with Cimarron Latin Night.
Saturday Dance Workshops at Triangle Dance Studio, 2603 S. Miami Blvd. Durham
- 12 Noon James Cobo - Salsa Technique Workshop- James is a master at teaching good technique and will show you how to do your salsa moves cleanly and correctly.
- 1 PM Troy and Jorjet Bachata Workshop. They are known worldwide for their Bachata and will give you some new moves and smooth style.
- 2 PM Mambo Combo Workshop- Turn pattern with ladies style and footwork
Saturday Afternoon Events- Since we moved the workshop schedule, we are now noting two events. 1) SalsaforU Dinner at Kemp's Seafood House115 Page Point Circle, Durham. We meet at 5:15 and we have reserved for up to 100, so no need to RSVP. Say you are with the SalsaforU Dinner. www.kempsseafoodhouse.com It is right off of Page Rd Ext. just south of Hway 70. 2) Fiesta Latina. Annual Free event at Durham Accademy Lower School, 3501 Ridge Rd, Durham near corner of Picket and just down the road from Fred Astiare. There will be food trucks from 6:30-9:30 and the show is form 7:30 to 9:30 and features Colombian Harpist Pavelid Castenada ( www.myspace.com/pavelidcastenada ) and Charanga Carolina. Free

Lesson 6:30 Mathew Walden- Musicality- Dancing on the one and two, recognizing changeups in the music and adjusting, recognizing the mens and womens count

We are reccomending two options for out of towners:
- La Quinta 4414 Durham Chapel Hill Blvd. This is just 5 minutes from Fred Astaire and the Big Saturday Night Event and about 20 minutes to the workshops at Triangle Dance Studios. It is a very nice place at a reasonable price with complimentary breakfast. 919-401-9660
- Days Inn Raleigh Airport This is a very economical option and is running a $50 base price on hotels.com at this link Here It has a complimentary breakfast. Not quite as fancy as La Quinta but good and economical. 15 Minutes from Workshops and 25 minutes to Saturday Night event. 919-469-8688.
